On Thursday 12 October, Cue Founder and Chairman Rod Levis was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 Australian Fashion Laureate.

Established by IMG and the New South Wales Government in 2008, the Australian Fashion Laureate honours the significant impact of established and emerging creatives on the history and future of Australian fashion.

Announced as the industry’s pinnacle honour, the Lifetime Achievement Award - which has previously acknowledged Australian icons Linda Jackson and Ken Done, celebrates persons who have, over time, made a significant contribution to the growth and development of the Australian fashion industry.

Across an incomparable 55-years in business, Rod, along with his wife Lynette and children Justin and Melanie, have pioneered a legacy of innovation in design and retail. Supported by teams past and present, the longevity and success of Cue is a testament to those who make the company what it is! Together, Rod and everyone at Cue celebrate this tremendous honour.

From a single Cue store in Sydney’s Strand Arcade to a multi-brand retail network in Australia and New Zealand, the company has grown with Australian women and continually evolves to meet the needs of their changing lives.

One of Rod’s most recognised quotes perfectly encapsulates the brand’s driving ethos - "Cue – the name says it all: it means to be on target, on the ball, ready for the next thing".

We join the Australian fashion industry in honouring Rod’s significant contributions to the industry and congratulate all the 2023 Australian Fashion Laureate recipients!

So many people whom we have looked up to or worked with are involved in the Australian Fashion Laureate which makes this award even more special.

Thank you to IMG, the Australian Fashion Laureate team, industry peers, media experts, Laureate alumni and partners.
